Pa Pa's in Heaven

Wednesday night, my little 2 year old (2 & 5 months) girl, who has been concerned and very sweet to Mommy since the end of January when Pa Pa passed away... said these words as she was about to drift off to sleep in my arms. "Mommy, look at me, look at me. I think got to creek."  You want to get in the creek?
Nooo. I get in creek all by my delf.  You got in the creek all by yourself, when?  Nooo.
I want to go to heaven to see Pa Pa.  Honey it doesn't work that way, we have to wait until God wants us to go to heaven and we hope that's going to be a long time, don't we?
I think, umh, umh we NEED to go see Pa Pa in Heaven after church on Sunday.  So I primp up with tears and try to hold it back, because I so wish it was that easy and for her at her age to remember and want to see Pa Pa is a prayer answered. I hope she'll always remember the 1 and 3/4 years she had him in her life (not enough).

So we proceed to pray for Pa Pa in heaven and she says:  Pray for Mi Mi too, Daddy too, Mommy, Whypser and Flowers too. And Mommy's broken toes. And your boo boo on your heal. And my boo boo on my lip. So we cover all of those items and she was ready for bed.

So yesterday I was bent over and she come and hugged my head and kissed my cheeks saying: Awh, we miss Pa Pa. We miss him. I say: yes, very much.  Then, she goes through the process a 2nd time, sweeping my hair back to kiss me on both cheeks saying the same thing.

Then we received news our friend got bit several times by a spider on his leg and she heard us talking about him. So this morning at breakfast with nothing said since yesterday she says:  Daddy, is Kenny going to be okay?  Yes, honey he's okayI hope he's okay, Daddy.

WE'RE BLESSED BEYOND BELIEF WITH THIS ONE. AMEN!

This morning after getting bad news from a friend about a spider bite

Tuesday's Pic'k #7

Well here is this week's Pic'k. I really need to get more of these up each week, because it's very hard to narrow down to just one. This little angel rocked her 3-year session. Tons to choose from, but this one has to be one of my favorites. She's just beautiful in the face, but when her little wet muddy overalls started to fall off and she had to -one arm - them... This is what we got, just priceless to me.

I love my job and I thank the Lord above for making it possible for me to do it. This was a topic amongst friends Sunday and I'm grateful I'm a lucky one. If you're not a lucky one and feel in the end, you'll only be making enough to always/only - be comfortable...then I hope you too get to do what makes you happiest.

Aplogy Accepted

So yesterday my daughter was whiney after waking, due to lack of sleep and just not in a good mood per her normal self. We were getting ready to head to her music class during the moments she would let me get myself ready.  After getting her settled and happier, I was in our bathroom when she appeared saying:  "I sorry Mommy, I sorry, I sorry Mommy I crynin'g a LOT". I told her I accept her apology and thank you for being such a good and big little girl for doing so.

Then this morning while eating her breakfast, she again proceeds to tell me the very same thing... even though she hadn't cried either morning.  Funny what they think of and how special it is when "at this age", they're already doing the "grown-up thing".

Luv luv to my little gal.   Lil' Bit.
As my friend Dana always says....

Tuesday's Pic'k #6

This Tuesday's Pic'k is from yesterday morning's 2 year old session, because I just couldn't wait to get in just long enough to take a peek. And although I'm extremely tickled with some of what we captured this little blonde beauty stopped me when I got a glimpse of this one during just uploading. I liked it so much... and because frankly it's time to add much more to the latest website...this particular one is now there instead of sharing here as before. So just go to our website http://www.dreambeeartphotography.com/  "Enter" the Portrait Studio and "click" Wee Ones at the bottom to catch a glimpse.  Let us know what you think. She's just adorable standing turned away from the horse as they both posed, just perfect for a brief second. She kept me and her Mommy on our toes the whole time.

Just FYI... 2 year olds are B-U-S-Y as BEE's, pun intended.

Enjoy!

Pageant #2 - Sumner County Fair continued

Well last Wednesday my daughter was in not one, but two Newspapers in Sumner County.  She placed 3rd as told in a previous post, pictured left in the Polkdot dress in the "The Gallatin News" paper.

Then we went back to the fair a few days later to enjoy the exhibits and pony rides and our picture was taken while looking at the exhibits. This paper is the Gallatin News Examiner and came out the same day last week. What a treat to see your baby in the paper.

Just a little something personal to share again with everyone. Hope you enjoyed.

Friday's Fav "Cuddle"

I just happen to run across this little gal and decided she should be this Friday's Fav. Her name matches the gem she is... and so sweet to be around. Her grandmother brought her to the studio to surprise her daughter (the mother) with a portrait treasure. A timeless treasure as we like to call them.

Remember it's time to now book your Fall Sessions as the days are finally getting cooler and cold weather will be here sooner than you know it. Call us at: 615.451.0018, we'd love to create something special just for you.

Have a great weekend!

When They're Quiet

So most parents if not ALL parents know, when their little ones are quiet, is when they really should be going to see WHY they're so quiet. And this little face is, even though just -oh so cute- (of course, I'm her Mom) NO different. Not once but three times today, she was very quiet. The first time she came to me with her mouth full of candy and WRAPPER, holding two lollipops she hadn't started on yet. And of course she didn't mind the wrapper until I dug it out to remove it. At some point today she took her Daddy's mandolin strings out of the case (granted it's her mandolin case, but Daddy's for the time being)....so strings are somewhere in the house yet to be found.

But the reason for me to even write this today is because of the 3rd time she was quiet a few minutes ago. She came in the kitchen with my (Mommy's) hair pick and water dripping down her face and her hair was wet.... you got it - Potty water. So in the tub she is, still at this moment as I escaped for a few minutes to share this with you.

So when they're quiet...You Never Know!

This little shot was taken at the late birthday party we had for her that I wrote about in an earlier post. As promised here's a glimpse! And yes ball players... It's her first glove and I'm not the one who gave it to her. Thanks AJ. I was tickled pink about it though. We played with it a little today.

Pageant #2 - Sumner County Fair

Well baby girl, did so good Tuesday night during the Sumner County Fair 2 Year Old Pageant in Gallatin, TN. Her personality bubbled over for the judges. I was very proud of her. She placed 3rd and received a white Ribbon. I believe she is due some money, but no one directed us. I'll have to call and check on it tomorrow. I'm almost sure she is also the youngest of the 2 year olds that placed.
This is only her 2nd Pageant.  At least she was the most happy while having her picture taken for the paper. She's saying "teeth".  Thanks to Terry Baughn for being our personal photographer during the Pageant in the extreme heat.  You're awesome.

Guess it's time to buy a true Pageant dress. She woke up that morning showing me what she was going to do and say and has already told me she wants to "do more Pageant - a-lot".

Also, congrats to a recent client. She received the Blue Ribbon in her baby category. Daughter of Amber Williams.
Have a good weekend.

Prayers Needed

Hello to all my friends and everyone viewing this blog post.  Today, I'm asking for prayers for a friend of mine who actually started as a client. She's the sweetest thing and needs as many prayers as we can drum up.  I'm kicking myself for not asking before hand and maybe they wouldn't be needed now.

So she just hung up with me on the phone as she has been going through the IVF process and has been keeping me posted along the way... now remember you just can't help but get excited along with her, because you really just believe you'll end up pregnant when you go through the process. But for whatever reason it just didn't take.  She's so upset as this is all NEW news today and is just sinking in.

I ask that we all pray for her to be directed in the way she needs to according to God's plan... and hopefully that means towards receiving a healthy baby or even two.

Thanks for spreading the word about my friend and her family, so that she'll call and tell me she's pregnant in the near future.

Have a good rest of the day.

Tuesday's Pic - "Leaving"

LEAVING...

We left the beach on Friday morning and the look on my girl's face seems to express her saddness about coming back home and leaving THE BEACH. Which she just loves. We found this out real quick last year, so we had to go back this season as well.
Which is one of the reasons I'm way behind on blogging. Along with a late birthday party for my gal's 2nd on Sunday a week ago, yes, the day before we left for vacation and my husband and I celebrated 12 years of marriage this past Sunday, and all of this, meant much spring cleaning had to happen when throwing parties and leaving town.

Due to business and many other things life throws at you, such as my Dad's passing, even back to having our baby girl... it seems like I just can't catch up sometimes, and I bet you at some point have felt sort of the same. But I personally can't function well unless I'm busy - it's just ME. I've come to the conclusion I must like it this way so I keep on keeping on, so to speak.

I hope to add something from her birthday party soon and share a little of what we have going on from time to time, instead of just business. So, I've rambled enough and just wanted to touch base with a little "Tuesday's Pic". Have a great rest of the week!

Friday's Fav "Too Funny"

I'm late as usual these days, but still wanted to take a minute to share this ole guy.  "Ole" not old. I'm not sure if any of us should ever call another old, since in reality we all hope to get old rather than the alternative. I do have to say I feel proud that I got to capture this moment and a few others. It was a very nice time having him in the studio. Hope you enjoy too.

Happy 4th of July

Happy Independance Day!
July 4th means so much to many of us. It's hard not to take what we have, for granted, when some of us haven't seen first hand what the U.S. could be like, without our freedom. Many have died and still are fighting for us to keep this right. Please remember them tonight as you go out and enjoy the fireworks and potluck dinners.
Remembering you and yours today, as well.
Thanks for visiting our blog.

FOUND

So after spending loads of time making flyers, putting them out. Calling people, checking shelters, sharing socially online and stopping at peoples house nearby...it hit me this morning to send an email to some folks that live, close by car, that are clients of the studio with an awesome little boy.  nly minutes after sending it out to them, I was out back with my daughter screaming for our dog one more time worried she's laying hurt or worse somewhere in the fields and my husband hollered for me saying "Tango's been found". I immediately ask.. "is this from the email I just sent" out and he said "yes". Turns out they had seen her last night and again this morning before leaving for work at their house. So off we pack up in the truck, so that again I'm yelling for her at the top of my lungs and finally from maybe a couple of houses down she came just a running.   She's not a barking dog, but she was just a talking away.  I'm so thrilled! And NO, she has never in 8 years gone past our neighbors house to our left and she was on another road a little ways away. I asked the Lord this morning to please let us find her, even if it wasn't good news as the not knowing would always kill me.  God is good and so I thank him, the Lewis' and anyone that was keeping an eye peeled.

Tuesday's Pic'k #5- Music Time/Friday Fav

So I'm late this week on Tuesday's Pic'k because frankly, I forgot about it. So how about we call it Friday's Fav this week. Actually I like the sound of that better, so I may change it all together. Who know's..stayed tuned to see where it goes.
So since bluegrass season has kicked off with a bang, so to speak and I'm doing this late on Friday it's only fitting we show you this shot we captured early this year of this sweet, beautiful little girl. Hope you enjoy as much as I do. And to all our music industry friends... let me know if you'd like this type of shot captured for you or someone you know. We just turned this one in for a technical contest. Hope we pass, what do you think?

Strawberry Festival Mother/Daughter Queen

Okay, so had to share.  My daughter made me proud. Because of her and all her cuteness, we were Crowned Queen last Saturday in the Strawberry Festival Pageant - Mother/Daughter Division. As they called the first runner up, I was preparing to leave backstage with my daughter as I was sure the gals dressed in the beautiful blue were going to be called and very much to my surprise they called our names. You can tell by the grin on my face I was totally proud and we're sure to find more pageants for little miss priss, because she really laid it on thick, while she graced the stage during both her divisions. I hear it's in two papers, that I'm yet to get a hold of and need to.

I'd also like to share how proud I am of one of my recent clients as she placed 2nd Runner Up in her Division along with Most Photogenic, (also pictured) using one of my portraits I had taken of her during the Easter Sessions. Way to go little Gracey!

Also, 1st Runner Up went to another one of our Easter clients in her Division... way to go little Addison! And thanks to both of the families for getting us to take your timeless treasures this year. I was so delighted to meet everyone.

Tuesday's Pic'k #3- Wonderland

Wonderland... Amazement...What all is out there...When can I go see...Is it fun...Will I like it... Or should I just stay here where I'm  safe?
What DOES a child think at this age, when they step outside and everything is so large? I certainly wish I could remember that feeling and those type of memories. But age two is long gone for me, but not for this little cutie and not for my own daughter as you've read in an earlier post. Well as usual I'm still working on a Monday night and wanted to get tomorrow's Pic'k up for all to see.
I hope you enjoy viewing this selection as much as I do. Please let us know what you feel when looking at this one. I promise I will not bite. Just click the pencil below and sign in using your name or anonymous is fine with me. I'm just trying to figure out, if anyone is listening, so to speak.

Enjoy your Tuesday!

Tuesday's Pic'k #2

Easter Session
Welcome to our 2nd week of Tuesday's Pic'k, something that I'm hopefully going to be able to do each week if time provides. As long as I keep the long night hours, maybe I can get them up on time.
Thought we'd share this "chance" shot I was honored and tickeled to capture. This little girl was an absolute delight to work with as she's at that fantastic age. And our little lamb was curiuos for only a split second and here we are. We're wondering if you think this shot has a chance in a photography contest. We'd love to hear your thoughts, just click the pencil below and leave us a comment. Be sure to spread the buzz and help our business grow, if you have anyone you think may be interested in our type of photography.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME...

Birthday Sessions
as she started to sing today.  I can't believe my long awaited baby is already 2 as of yesterday. I guess our singing to her stuck and she replaced her name with "Me". Little munchkin butt. Well Birthday Princess here.
Wow, it sure does fly. I can't say I wasn't warned, but you just don't grasp it, until you live it. At least I didn't. It has been my privelage thus far to be this little gal's mother (Mommy as she says).  The words, almost full sentances are coming faster and faster. She's been a quick study from the start and has ALWAYS gotten her point across even before words.  And yes! She IS ready for the Royal wedding, don't you think?
God has blessed me, in his own time, in a huge way. Daddy passed 3 months ago this week, and this little blessing is what keeps me strong. I hope you don't mind me sharing a little something personal from time to time. Thanks for listening.

Baby Plans

Wow, what a wonderful session yesterday! I just can't get enough of this little girl. As long as she's not sleepy she's always raring to go. These eyes are mesmerizing as are her actions. I hope you enjoy this little sneak peak from her Baby Plan Session (sitting up stage) as they get even better than this. But we better wait until Mom gets to view them before publicizing others. If you or someone you know is pregnant and would like a maternity session or begin a 1-Year Baby Plan then look no further we guarantee our work. If you don't like what we offer after your first visit you'll not be obligated to anything. Happy Spring.

My Daddy - Bluegrass Promoter

Festival in the Pines founder Sterling Belcher dies at age 71
The event had drawn such bluegrass stars as Alison Krauss, Ralph Stanley and Jimmy Martin.
By Ralph Berrier Jr.

Sterling Belcher ran a bluegrass festival for 30 years before he got up the nerve to sing on the stage.
As cancer whittled away his body, Belcher sang "The Little Log Cabin in the Lane" last May during Festival in the Pines, the three-day bluegrass event Belcher founded and operated at his tree-rimmed campground in Rocky Mount. After he finished the song, he told the crowd he hoped to see them next year, but that he didn't know what plans the Lord had for him.

"You ain't going nowhere, Sterling!" some in the crowd hollered at him. "You're too ornery!"
His health only worsened, however, and Belcher died Saturday at age 71 after battling prostate cancer and strokes for much of the past four years. The family had already decided to cancel this year's festival because of Belcher's declining health.

Festival in the Pines was famous for its low-key, down-home vibe. Located at Belcher's Tripple Creek Music Campground, the first festival was a homecoming for local bluegrass band the Lost and Found in 1981. Over the years, bluegrass luminaries such as Alison Krauss, Ralph Stanley, Jimmy Martin, Rhonda Vincent, the Bluegrass Cardinals and the Lewis Family played the festival. Many regional favorites such as James King, Junior Sisk and Belcher's son-in-law, Larry Stephenson, also performed.

According to his daughter, Dreama Stephenson, who helped him plan and promote some of the later events, the festivals were rarely profitable, but were rich in music and memories.
"It didn't matter how much money he lost," Stephenson said, "it was a dream of his to do it. He'd sacrifice year after year. It about drove my mother crazy."
Belcher worked for DuPont in Martinsville for 31 years, a job that allowed him to finance his festivals. He also farmed and raised beef cattle.
The events were mostly family friendly affairs, although Stephenson recalled one show when an inebriated fan caused a commotion near the stage while his unbuttoned shirt nearly fell off his torso in front of the crowd. Stephenson said she still can see her father talking quietly to the man, all while buttoning his shirt for him. The drunk left without causing a further stir.

In addition to his daughter, survivors include his wife, Pat Dillon Belcher, and his son, Stacy Belcher.
Belcher won several awards for his contributions to bluegrass, which included recognitions from the Virginia Folk Music Association and East Coast Bluegrass Association. He was even presented a key to the town of Rocky Mount in 2005 in recognition of his festival's 25th anniversary.
The Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass Music of America nominated him as promoter of the year three times, including this year, but he never won. This year's winners will be announced this weekend in Nashville, Tenn.

"I had hoped to pick him up and take him down there," Stephenson said. "He really wanted to win it. That'll probably be the case, now that he's gone."

Company Party Music Video

What a joyful time this group had back in December!
And what a joyful time myself and my friend (who helped out) had as well. The food was wonderful and I thank Ann for having us stay for a bite. The music was fabulous and offered a little for everyone. One gal stuck out in the crowd just a bit whose was walking on the wild side. You may see her exuding tons of fun, not to mention a few others that sparked the cameras eye. Without giving names away.

And most of all I thank the company for choosing us to photograph the party and sessions for them. And to the one's that placed orders for portraits, you are appreicated. Now enjoy the show!

My Snowman

I just LOVE snow! I'd be happy if I could see it snow here at our house, without bringing harm to anyone of course, for three-weeks. Since I do like it so much, I thought I'd get busy and enjoy it a bit so I built a snowman. By far the best atempt I ever made. What joy winter can bring!

I hope during this winter snow, you've found a safe place and are enjoying it,as much as myself.

Happy New Year & Company Party

Well Happy New Year to everyone.
Wow! It's time to take a breath. I mean really, it's January and time to renew our energy and minds, don't you agree? Wow, where to start? December was a whirlwind as I'm sure it was for everyone. It was very busy here at the studio as we had many viewings coming in to see their Church Directory Sessions along with our normal sessions for family and tots. So we had a very nice Open House for ALL to come pick up their portraits and to view all the items we had on special from our BeautiControl line, as well as jewelry line. There was food and beverage and I must mention... the foods were "Sweets"...just my style. I had the extreme pleasure of photographing a wedding on New Year's Eve, a full-day event! I'll have a preview for you later. But I wanted to share this one image from a Company Christmas Party, that I was very excited to work back in December as well. The people were so friendly and it was held in the Rotunda at the Country Music Hall of Fame in downtown Nashville, TN. Great, wonderful room. We started with portrait sessions for all and finished with the event images. I'm hoping to post a short video this week for you to view. For now I'll go, but be on the look out for our great speicals, one of which is our Valentine special for the little ones and sure you can join in too. But we have something really cute planned for the wee-ones. Happy New Year!
